Solution: How to install XAudio2 and fix “could not find XAudio2″ Error on Windows 7

You may have received an error message about XAudio2 when installing or playing newer games.

You may have seen error messages like:
“Failed to create XAudio2 engine”
“Could not find XAudio2″

It seems that if you are running DirectX 9 you will not get this error, but if you are running Windows 7 with the newest DirectX 11 you might get this error when installing games that use the XAudio2 engine.

To fix the problem, you need to download an installation file from Microsoft from June 2010, it contains a lot of updates to the DirectX 11 package, among them the XAudio2 engine.

You can download it here:
Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)

The only managed DLLs on the Xbox are the DLLs provided by XNA Game Studio Express. Any other Xbox development has to be done with the XDK, which is only available under NDA with Microsoft. And to get to sign that NDA, you pretty much need to have relations with some publisher that is already working on Xbox games.

You should download the file and install it in your pc. I think this will help you.

I am running prototype 2 on windows 8. At first time when I was trying to run this game an error poped up saying ‘xinput_3.dll’ is missing from your pc. Try reinstalling your game. When I just trying to reinstall it another poped up comes says that ‘Isdone.dll’ is not found. I download it and install it but it does not work so I have done ‘dll file fixer’ and again installed it but again it doesn’t work so I had tried to download and install the xinput_3.dll. After this my game is working but and error is occuring and saying that ‘xaudio2′ file is missing, the game will now start without sound. This is my problem please help me.
